Start dates for the Gold course are arranged individually to suit each participant. Once you contact us, we’ll discuss your availability and create a timetable that fits your schedule.

About the Course

This course meets the Skills section requirements for the DofE Gold Award. You’ll explore fiction, poetry and life writing while refining your creative voice and building confidence as a writer. The course includes:

Live online creative writing workshops
Independent tasks to develop your writing
Final writing projects
Professional, one-to-one written feedback on your work
A completed DofE Assessor’s Report at the end of the course

Course Details & Eligibility

Duration: You can choose a 6-month or 12-month course to meet your DofE Gold Skills section requirement. Age: Gold is for those aged 16+ years You can start your Gold DofE Award any time after your 16th birthday and must complete it before you turn 25.

Parental Permission (if under 18)

If you’re under 18, a parent or guardian will need to complete a short online form to confirm your enrolment. This will include:

A digital signature
At least one emergency contact number
